The Ready Reading Teacher’s Manual contains 66 sequenced lessons that include instruction for consonants, short vowels, long vowels, and variant vowel spellings.
It has an easy-to-follow format that requires very little preparation time.
Options for instructional materials for students vary according to teacher preference.
Each lesson provides visual, auditory, kinesthetic/tactile, and language-experience story instruction to teach explicit phonics and word blending.
The manual includes a reproducible game activity page for each lesson.
Adjunct materials are available for reproducible storybooks and reinforcement pages according to teacher preference and student need.
READY READING PLUS is designed as a supplement to, and extension of, the Ready Reading book. The goal is to provide more decodable words for the older student who has not had phonics and needs to practice letter sounds and the blending process. Teachers have found that using these lessons greatly aids spelling ability.
Additional, more challenging, words are included for Lessons 1 to 66 so that students who are more mature are able to increase their knowledge of vocabulary meaning.
READY READING PLUS continues the blending process with groups of words having common phonic elements. There are also lessons using groups of words with the same silent letters.

SET 1 includes the READY READING TEACHER’S MANUAL, all Set 1 supplementary reproducible materials and CD's or USB’s. Lessons 1 to 30 include consonants, consonant digraphs, and short vowels.
SET 2 includes the READY READING TEACHER’S MANUAL, supplementary reproducible materials for Lessons 31 to 49, covering long vowel spellings.
SET 3 includes the READY READING TEACHER’S MANUAL, supplementary reproducible materials for Lessons 50 to 66, covering variant vowels, soft c, and soft g.
READY READING PLUS Grade 3 to Adult includes Lessons 1 to 98 advanced word lists for older students to learn and practice more advanced elements of phonics. It also includes generic activity pages that can be used with any lesson.

READY READING - Packets of Reproducible Black Line Masters can be ordered individually instead of in a Complete Set.
READY READING Letter Pictures are designed to give students a visual reference for identification of the letter sound. They may be used in conjunction with the Visual section of the lessons. Pictures can be colored and posted on the wall or taken home. They can serve as a model for students to create their own pictures.
Letter Pictures include all 26 letters of the alphabet, with vowel pictures, as well as consonant digraph pictures, sh, wh, th, ch.

READY READING Letters and Sounds pages are designed to give the students a guide for letter formation on regular writing lines. Pictures drawn around the letter shapes are included as a reference for the letter sound. As an activity, students think of objects that contain the same sound and draw those pictures at the bottom of the page.

Pages can be used for direct instruction or independent practice. The teacher can make a transparency of the page or demonstrate on the board. Students can follow the instruction by writing on their copies of the page or they could write on regular lined paper.

READY READING Word / Picture Cards are designed to help students practice words from the blending lessons. They can be used for direct instruction and the cards can be cut apart. An alternate activity is to cut the page in half, using just the picture part to let the students write the words independently or using just the word part to let the students draw their own pictures.

READY READING Spelling pages may be used a variety of ways. For direct instruction, students can write the words as they are given orally in the lesson. This page can also be used for reinforcement or as an assessment of student ability to blend and write independently.

READY READING Storybooks enable students to practice phonics in the context of a story and gain fluency in reading. The words used are those that students learned to sound out and write in the lessons. Storybooks can be used for direct instruction or independent practice at school or at home.
Duplicated Storybook pages fold into either a 4-page book printed on a one-sided sheet or an 8-page book printed on a two-sided sheet back-to-back.

Lessons for Noting Details are not dependent on the context of the storybooks. These pages will reinforce the newly learned phonics skill while teaching the students to look closely at the words and the pictures, to make sure they are actually reading instead of using just a few words to guess the answer.
