READY READING Letters and Sounds pages are designed to give the students a guide for letter formation on regular writing lines.  Pictures drawn around the letter shapes are included as a reference for the letter sound.  As an activity, students think of objects that contain the same sound and draw those pictures at the bottom of the page. 

Set 1 Consonants and Short Vowels 

Pages can be used for direct instruction or independent practice.  The teacher can make a transparency of the page or demonstrate on the board.  Students can follow the instruction by writing on their copies of the page or they could write on regular lined paper.
